Jazz pianist with autism to appear at Albuquerque concert series at “Jazz Under the Stars”

By JACK BOWERS There’s nothing really exceptional about jazz pianist Matt Savage. Nothing, that is, unless you consider the following: At age three, Matt was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), a form of autism, and was unable to tolerate loud noises or even music. Startlight Cinema 8 Sensory Friendly Movie Experience Pilot Program

New Mexico Autism Society collaborates with Mitchell Theatres Startlight Cinema 8 to offer a sensory friendly movie experience at Los Lunas theatre.   The New Mexico Autism Society is happy to announce a partnership with Mitchell Theatres Starlight Cinema for a 3 month pilot program that will offer a “sensory friendly movie” on the first Saturday of every month. Call for Designers Project Connect Season 3

The New Mexico Autism Society and 66 Pin-Ups are looking for local designers, seamstresses and  anyone who wants to try their hand making a dress for our fashion show design challenge. The Challenge: NMAS and 66 Pin-Ups will provide each designer with 2 yards of puzzle piece fabric. The designers will need to create a vintage (1940’s-1950’s) inspired dress using at the minimum 1 yard of  the fabric provided.
