Autism Flexible Funding

The New Mexico Department of Health - Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) is excited to announce a new Autism Flexible Services Program. Several organizations have worked with DDSD to design this program to help meet the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. The purpose of this program is to provide access to funding for a variety of services and supports (not goods) for families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are not eligible for Medicaid services. 2016 Super Heroes of Autism

On November 5th at the Hyatt in Downtown Albuquerque over 200 people gathered to honor individuals, organizations and companies who are "champions in the autism community!"  The night started with a silent auction and networking hour followed by a dinner and key note address by former Miss Montana and autism advocate Alexis Wineman. Just 6 days prior to Alexis presenting, she unexpectedly lost her biggest fan, her mother Kimberly Butterworth. Jazz pianist with autism to appear at Albuquerque concert series at “Jazz Under the Stars”

Nothing, that is, unless you consider the following: At age three, Matt was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), a form of autism, and was unable to tolerate loud noises or even music.
