Clovis Resident Dawn Lassiter Montoya appointed to the New Mexico Autism Society Board of Directors
The New Mexico Autism Society is proud to announce that Clovis resident Dawn Lassiter Montoya has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Autism Society.
Board members serve a 2 year term, and each director has specific responsibilities to the organization when seated. Primarily, the board sets the direction of the society. Board members are expected to attend periodic board meetings, participate on at least one committee, help fundraise for the organization, and recognize that their efforts are on behalf of a greater autism community. The New Mexico Autism Society is driven by the desire to help one another and our stated mission is “to improve all lives affected by autism” in our state. The New Mexico Autism Society is a community of acceptance, support and connection.
Dawn and her husband Andy are the proud parents of three children and one grandchild. Autism Spectrum Disorder is near and dear to the Montoya’s heart since the diagnosis of their 18 year old daughter, Darian, 14 years ago. The Montoya’s have had a unique experience on “Autism Street,” and Dawn is honored to be able to serve other families in her area. It is Dawn’s hope that she can reach out to the Clovis/Portales community and help raise awareness and educate the community on the effects of ASD. Dawn hopes to get a parent support group started in the very near future! Dawn can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
